Wok Chi Restaurant @ Setia Alam

Last weekend, we decided to eat our dinner outside to celebrate someone's farewell. We can't make up our mind where to eat so we just randomly drove around the shop houses in Setia Alam. We came across a restaurant named Wok Chi. We initially didn't wanted to eat there as there is not a single patron in the restaurant. We didn't manage to find any other restaurant as it was late so we proceed to Wok Chi to have a simple dinner.

There isn't even a single patron inside the restaurant so the staff treated us like a VIP, helpful and kind too. We ordered our food shortly after arriving as it was already 8.30 p.m.

Food was ready before long. The first dish that came out from the kitchen was the chicken dish.

The gravy was nice but unfortunately the chicken was not soft enough.

The second dish was the kangkung vegetable. Usually this kind of vegetable would be cooked with either belacan (prawn paste) or chilli but this restaurant cooked it in a normal style.

The next dish was the vegetable soup. The taste was too sour as it was cooked with too many tomatoes and sour vegetable. It tasted like tom yam soup. The portion was surprisingly big despite ordering only for 5 person.

This is the portuguese style prawn in claypot. This is one of my favourite dishes among all. The thick gravy taste like curry but it was not spicy. The prawn's size was big and it was fresh too.

The last dish was also one of my favourite dishes. It was the steam tilapia fish in soy sauce. The fish weigh more than 1kg. Initially we didn't wanted to order tilapia fish but later part we were convince to try their well known steam tilapia fish. To out suprise, the fish was indeed tasty. The meat was fresh and the sauce was not too salty.

Overall, the food was acceptable and the food's price is reasonable. Their other popular dish is the tong sat (keli fish) but we didn't have a chance to try in that day.
